Poem I wrote...

Last night we had a pretty big storm move through my area...when I went to bed, I opened all the windows so I could enjoy the storm as I went to sleep. As I was lying there...I started to write a poem. This is something that I don't do often and I'm not really good at it...but its not half bad for coming up with something at the spur of the moment....



Cool, moist air floated in the room and swept over me in the darkness.

Water beating against the world around lulled me into a trance

Trees danced in synchronized circles, whirling my thoughts of yesterday

Whispers from heaven were delivered upon the wisps of the wind

The booming thunder spoke of dreams to come

Lightning shined upon the path to follow

Blood in my veins pulsated with the rhythm of the thunder's voice

No longer aware of the bed or clothing around me

The cares of yesterday gone, hope for a new tomorrow
