Beginning Days

Well, I have been working for three days. It's been tiring, but not at all bad. My trainer, Shane has been extremely nice. He is very patient with me and takes his time to explain things to me. His run is Tuesday through Saturday......yes SATURDAY!!!! Yuck. But, it will just be for the next four weeks. His run is from the Atlanta terminal and then he meets a guy to swap trailers in Millersville, TN at an old truck stop and then drives back every day. It's a ten hour drive plus terminal and swap time. This all makes for a long day. However, Shane feels like me and wants to get home quick. Therefore, we bring our lunch and make as little pee breaks as we can.

I haven't had too much trouble. Tuesday he drove there and I drove back. Yesterday and today were the opposite. I'm actually in the passenger seat right now typing this on Gbzy's iPad. He's letting me test drive his to see if it is something that I can use on the road and that I would like instead of a laptop. So far, it's good. I just need to get a phone that I can use as a hot spot.

Wednesday and today I had a good drive with very little gear issues. Tuesday, the first day, I kept popping out my clutch way to fast every time I started off causing a lot of stalls. Oops :) However, now I'm not having that problem. I drove fine. My challenge now is backing up a dolly and then trying to hook doubles in a small space coming from an angle. Straight on is a piece of cake, obviously. But, this was at an angle. And getting the dolly to back up at an angle.....woooooo.....that joker turns on a dime. So, there was a lot of back and forth and counter steering. I'll get the hang of it eventually.

Whelp, getting a bit car sick now from typing so that will be all for now. See ya on the flip side.

:)
