This past Monday my dad and I started a new weight loss program. We have a church friend that is a nurse practitioner and runs a weight loss and wellness center out of Griffin. You can check them out at http://www.absolutehealthcareofga.com/ I put on my facebook status on Wednesday that I had lost seven pounds. Since then I have had countless people ask me about what I was doing and what it was all about. After typing it up and explaining it several times....I decided it would be smarter to write a blog about it and then just refer people here so I didn't have to type it anymore, lol. So....
Lisa offers several different programs. I chose the shots in the bum, pills down the throat, and detox plan. I go in to see Lisa once a month for a check up. At this check up my blood pressure, weight, and etc are evaluated and then I get a month's supply of appetite suppressant (herbal or prescription) and two shots in the bum. I chose the prescription appetite suppressant just because I want something that is strong...so far so good. The two shots can be administered once a week...but I chose to keep it once a month (long drive to Griffin and OUCH....no, seriously, OUCH. I'm not one to whine about shots...but these hurt a lot...20 times worse than the tetanus shot I received last week). Here are what is in the shots:
Absorbic Acid ~ Vitamin C, decreases "bad" cholesterol
Thiamine - B1 ~ helps metabolize carbs and fats into energy, mood stabilizer, enhances energy, decreases stress
Riboflavin - B2 ~ aids in the metabolism of fatty acids, amino acids, and carbs; enhances energy, decreases stress, promotes good vision
Dexpanthenol - B5 ~ aids in the metabolism of carbs and fats; decreases stress, fatigue and PMS, enhances energy and stamina
Choline - B Complex ~ lipid metabolism, helps with depression and anxiety, helps with brain function and memory
Inositol - B Complex ~ breakdown of fat, helps with depression and anxiety and brain function
Methionline ~ Sulfur containing helps with metabolism of vitamins, reduces cholesterol, prevents hair, skin and nail disorders
Niacmamide - B3 ~ aids in release of energy from foods, helps to reduce blood pressure, improves circulation to extremities, reduces cholesterol, helps with brain function, decreases stress
Cyanocobalamin - B12 ~ increases metabolism, enhances energy and stamina, increases brain function, reduces cholesterol, produces healthy red blood cells
Lidocaine or Procaine ~ anesthetic, helps with discomfort of injection
B6 ~ helps eat holes in the fat that is already stored on the body, aids in protein metabolism, helps to maintain your blood glucose, reduces the risk of heart attacks by 33%, enhances the immune system, increases brain function, mood stabilizer
So, that is the lovely cocktail that gets shot into my bum every month. The detox diet isn't too hard to follow that I was given...basically you can eat the healthy protein, low fat dairy, beans, vegetables, and nuts. You, of course, want to stay away from the fat vegetables that really aren't vegetables.....like potatoes and carrots which are roots that we like to think are part of the healthy vegetable group...but sad to say, they aren't. Then you have to EXERCISE one hour daily, 5-6 times per week....that has been easy since I have been at home....when I start going back to school and working again....that might turn into a bigger challenge. The hardest challenge at the moment is the drinking of the water. I like water. But, how in the HECK am I suppose to drink the proper amount. Here is what the proper amount should be per the diet sheet: 8 glasses each day or BODY WEIGHT DIVIDED BY TWO EQUALS NUMBER OF OUNCES OF WATER. So, basically, I should be drinking almost 20 glasses of water a day. I fix my glass of water in the morning....and by bed time, I still have a half a glass left.....hmmmmmmm...... don't know what I can do about that but force myself to choke it down....now if it was sweet tea....no problem. I don't understand why I can't drink that much water.
So, yes....seven pounds in basically two days. I haven't check again since Wednesday. I don't want to be possessed by the scale....so I'm trying to just do what I do and let the scale worry about itself. We shall see how it all works out.
I will, also, be doing her hcg plan in a couple of months as a boost...and will do that as needed. I have had two friends that have had a lot of success with that plan. I will tell you guys about that when I actually decide to start that plan.
