Please don't get me wrong. I love teaching...I just don't like all the stuff that goes with it...all the crap added on with no time added to do it...I just wish we had one week at the school to work without kids. That would be a miracle...the stuff I could get done and the lessons I could plan. I usually go in during the Christmas break and work...but they had the building closed this year because of the furloughs of the secretaries and principals. Oh well...so I start back tomorrow. The kids don't return till Tuesday...but we won't get any time to do anything because of meetings all day. Oh joy!
Today I went on a date with Norberto. He's 32 years old and lives in Clayton, Georgia which is up in the northeast corner of the state. He drove over an hour and a half to meet me on Pleasant Hill Road which is about 40 minutes north of me. He is a landscaper and stone worker... I know stone worker probably isn't the right term...but he showed me some pictures and he does beautiful work. We met at Olive Garden for dinner. We didn't talk too much...it took awhile for us to warm up to each other, I guess. We then went and played pool at a bar and grill across the street. I really stink at it...but he was good humored about it and helped me some. I didn't win one game, of course. I guess I should practice my pool game. I look forward to getting to know him better. If nothing comes of it...I know that we could be friends. He's very nice and has a good sense of humor. He was the perfect gentleman the whole night. I offered to pay for the pool games...but he looked at me like I was crazy. We'll see what happens next.
Wish Dave was here though....
